Sophoridine
Detail
Chemical Name: Sophoridine
CAS No.:83148-91-8
Chemical Structure:C15H24N2O
Molecular weight:248.36
Function:
Antitumor Effects:
Sophoridine can mildly inhibit the DNA synthesis of tumor cells, blocking cell
proliferation in the G2 phase. Additionally, it inhibits DNA topoisomerase I
but does not affect DNA topoisomerase II.
Central Nervous System Effects: Sophoridine can stimulate the central nervous system, causing convulsions and
leading to epilepsy. It can also counteract epilepsy induced by penicillin.
Furthermore, it enhances the content of the excitatory neurotransmitter Glu in
the central nervous system while reducing the content of the inhibitory
neurotransmitter GABA in the cortex and hippocampus.
Analgesic Effects:
Sophoridine can significantly increase the pain threshold of mice,
demonstrating a certain analgesic effect.
Other Effects:
Sophoridine also possesses immunomodulatory and antiviral effects. In recent
years, it has been discovered to have important pharmacological activities in
slowing heart rate, increasing myocardial contractility, and anti-inflammatory
properties.
