Chemical Name: Bilobalide
CAS No.: 33570-04-6
Chemical Structure:
Molecular weight:
Function:
It has a remarkable curative effect on dementia caused by aging.
It is used to treat neurological diseases, encephalopathies, and
spinal cord diseases, with symptoms including sensory abnormalities, flaccid
paralysis or paralytic dementia, abnormal nerve reflexes, muscle atrophy,
muscle spasms, tremors, superficial or deep sensitivity disorders, headaches
and limb pain, language disorders, visual and hearing impairments, vertigo,
neurological disorders, lack of concentration, memory loss, and loss of
orientation.
Recent experiments have also shown that bilobalide has an
anti-edema effect, and its internal mechanism may be related to avoiding the
uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation and protecting cell membranes from
degeneration caused by hypoxia.
Bilobalide can also inhibit the hydrolysis of cholinesterase,
exhibiting neuroprotective effects, and inhibiting the activation of
phospholipase A2 and phospholipid depletion caused by N-methyl-D-aspartic acid
(NMDA).
